MSC Alumni Basketball League update

The MSC Alumni Basketball League opened last November 8, 2014 at the Teomora covered court.  The program started with the convocation, singing of the National Anthem, recitation of the MSC Mission, Vision, and Philosophy.  Then the high school students had a cheerdance presentation of the winning teams during the school’s sportsfest.

The Oath of Sportsmanship was recited by the six teams which enlisted for the tournament, before the start of the games.  The first game featured the team from MSC High School against the Green Team.  The High Schoolers won over the undermanned Green team with only Glenn, and Robert Alvarez, Arjay Tulipan, Paolo Areza, and George Delfino playing in their first game.

In the second game, the Black Team composed of Bryan Deocareza, Jhun and John Gatasi, Jeffrey Mitra and Ron Enmacino won against the Yellow Team made up of, Sir Alfritz Labo, Denmar John Dionglay, Peter Warren Chan, Reymark Marzo, and Manolito “Kuya Baki” Linatoc.

The third game pitted Red vs. White.  Red was composed of Renz Bunquin, Wilfredo Pomay, JB Dausin, Neil De Rama, Leonard Sunga, Elso Christian Bicomong, Ronald Lubi, Ryan Guardian, and Raniel Tero.  The Reds lost to White, represented by Jeffrey Villota, Bon Bacera, Aaron Araniego, Adrian Reyes, Michael Castillo, Andy Carandang, Christian Obrador, Kevin Ontoy, and Kent Louise Catoy.

Last Saturday, November 15, 2014, the Green Team won over Yellow in the first game.  In the second game, Black Team won over the MSC High School team, while int the third game, Red automatically notched a win via default.

After two playing days, here are the team standings:

The next games will be played on November 29, starting at 7 am at the Teomora covered court.

Winning Teams will play for the Championship on Dec. 6, 2014.

“Parang butil ng buhangin di gaanong napapansin, pag- inipon ang tinapon ay panghihinayangan din.”

Walong taon na ang nakararaan nang ako ay mag- umpisa bilang isang butil ng buhangin. Isang buhangin sa napakalawak na baybayin; hindi napapansin at hindi alam kung paano palulutangin ang natatanging talento at galling.

Hunyo, 2006 noon nang malaman ko ang pakiramdam ng isang sundalong susugod sa gera na walang dalang sandata. Unang araw ko noon sa hayskul. Unang araw ko sa paaralang kahit sa pangarap ay hindi ko naisip na aking mararating. Sa kabutihang palad, ako ay nakapasok at nakapagtapos sa isang pribadong paaralan. Sa loob ng apat na taon nang pagiging iskolar ay naitaguyod ko ang pinakamasayang parte ng pagiging estudyante, ang hayskul.

Maraming bagay ang aking narasan. Natuto akong makihalubilo sa mga taong higit na angat ang antas sa buhay. Natutunan kong makipagsabayan at hindi ikahiya ang aking katayuan. Nakahanap din ako ng mga tunay na kaibigan na hindi ako huhusgahan at handang tumulong kapag ako ay nangangailangan.

Sa lugar na ito, natuto akong lumaban hindi gamit ang dahas kundi gamit ang pluma at isipan. Dito natuto akong tumayo, humarap sa maraming tao at manindigan. Sa lugar na ito, naranasan kong maging lider na namumuno, pinakikinggan, iginagalang at sinusundan.

Courage is the only thing that I had during my highschool days. Ito ang laging baon ko sa pagpasok sa paaralan. Sa loob ng apat na taon, maraming leksyon ang aking natutunan sa loob at labas ng silid- aralan. Ito ang mga leksyon na patuloy na nakalagay sa aking puso’t isipan at patuloy na isinasabuhay.

Sa MSC, ang isang buhangin na dati ay hindi gaanong napapansin ay pinahahalagahan at panghihinayangan na rin. I realized my worth. MSC really brings out the best in me.

Glennifer Perido, MSC High School alumna crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism

Glennifer Perido, a member of MSC High School class of 2005-2006 was recently crowned Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism International 2014, held on August 8, at Solaire Casino and Resort in Pasay City.

 

Out of 30 candidates from different provinces in the country and communities abroad, Glennifer also won Best in Evening Gown, Mutya Rain or Shine, Miss Zen Institute and Miss Ivana Fragrance.  She will represent the country in the Miss Tourism International 2014 to be held on December 31st in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Glennifer is from Kalinga, the province she represented during the pageant, but she went to San Pablo City and finished her high school at MSC.   She is a BS Nursing graduate and is now a Registered Nurse.  With her 5’8” height and whistle-bait figure, she participated and won in the following pageants:

  • Flores de Laguna 2009
  • Miss STAWD 2009
  • Binibining Pilipinas 2011 Official Candidate
  • Miss Casino Filipino 2011 – 1st Runner Up
